People In Need launched a fundraising campaign to help victims of the earthquake that struck remote mountainous Tibetan Plateau of southwest China on April 14, 2010. According to the latest estimates, the disaster has claimed over 2,000 lives. 100 000 people are left homeless in freezing conditions after a series of quakes and aftershocks caused many low, mud-brick buildings to collapse. The funds collected will be used for immediate humanitarian aid.
