Člověk v tísni - People in Need is calling for applications for the position of Compensation Specialist. The main objective of this role is to maintain organizational structure, job grading and other related tools and guidelines in line with organizational changes and requirements. To support and guide Czech sections, departments and country programmes (foreign missions) while reviewing remuneration packages, conducting benchmarking exercise, salary analyses, etc. in order to achieve a fair, equitable and competitive compensation and benefits package that fits and is aligned with the organization´s strategy and goals.
This role reports directly to the COO.

Location: Prague 2
Starting date: ASAP (upon agreement)
Type of contract: Full-time, annual contract with the possibility of extension 

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Compensation

  • Support compensation practice based on organizational goals and strategy
  • Develop or update compensation policies and guidelines that reflect our work and organizational culture
  • Support overall compensation methodology (salary increase, salary and benefits structure, etc.)
  • Perform benchmarking based on CZ-ISCO
  • Review salary scale structures including salary grades
  • Deal with specific cases / roles and assign the correct salary range following job classification
  • Integrate current laws and regulations into compensation practices
  • Prepare reports about the internal equity and external competitiveness
  • Keep abreast with new trend and best practice in the field
  • Support and train line managers and other HR colleagues in the usage of different Compensation tools and policies
  • Advice line managers in taking difficult decisions in the area of compensation and benefits
  • Participate in internal projects including development of salary calculator for country programmes

Job grading and Organizational structure

  • Maintain the standard job grading tool and related guidelines in line with the organizational structure set up
  • Review and analyse new jobs, their titles and job descriptions in line with the standard job grading tool
  • Maintain the methodology for a new job creation, job evaluation and organizational structure changes
  • Support integration of new organizational objects (jobs, units, departments, etc.) into the job grading tool
  • Support drafting and assessing new job descriptions
  • Perform or participate in internal audits of the organizational structure and recommend changes to make the organizational set up more efficient
  • Participate in other HR or organization wide projects, such as HR Information System (Success Factors)  implementation
  • Closely cooperate with other departments as all systems are aligned and linked

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in a similar role in a big international organization or as a consultant
  • Knowledge of maintaining compensation packages and bonus programs for various departments and seniority levels
  • Understanding of job evaluation and job analysis systems
  • Experience with HR Information System or payroll software
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Enjoying explaining specific HR terms and methodology to non-HR colleagues
  • Ability to think, discuss possible solutions and passion to learn new things is essential
  • Excellent English and Czech
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel
  • Travelling to country programs might be required e.g. twice a year
