Job location: Prague or your home location with trips to international Country Programs (30% of time per year)
Type of contract: Full time (40 hours/week)
Duration: 1 year with possibility to extend
Starting date: upon agreement

The Grants Development Advisor (GDA) works under the supervision of the Head of the Grants Development Unit and in close collaboration with Desk Officers and Regional Directors, in line with PIN’s Relief and Development Department Strategy. The GDA is part of the Knowledge and Learning Department, a dynamic team of technical and program development advisors.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of staff in preparation and production of proposals, consequently develop either full proposals or their parts based on the agreements
  • Ensures proposed actions are in compliance with the donors requirements and strategic priorities, as well as the priorities of PIN
  • Supporting pre-positioning towards identified donors in line with the Country Programme Strategies
  • Lead and/or support partner negotiations including teaming and pre-bid agreements
  • Coordinates required technical inputs with other PIN Units (especially Knowledge & Learning)
  • Contributes to ensure institutional knowledge about solicited projects and donor requirements and priorities
  • Contribute to build the Capacity building of HQ and country-based staff

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience developing and managing complex proposals presentations, and proposal preparation processes
  • Proven track record in securing highly competitive bids (incl. DEVCO/ECHO, USAID, FCDO, SDC, GAC, UN agencies etc)
  • Experience in the NGO sector or donors' agencies
  • Proven knowledge of various donors strategies
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, other languages are an advantage
  • Ability to perform under time pressure, have flexibility, work independently, manage multiple tasks and work effectively in fast-paced and multi-cultural environments
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Have the ability to both coordinate different teams and participate in different team environments
  • Excellent communication, writing, editing and proofreading skills, with an eye for proposal messaging, themes, proposal aesthetics and content
