Starting date: 1 st of June
Type of contract: Full-time (40 hours/week), member of management of Relief and Development Department ​

Main Focus:

  • Management of international team of technical advisors and MEAL experts working in Knowledge and Learning Department (KLD) of Relief and Development Department (RDD)
  • Building of PIN’s technical expertise in strategy sectors and knowledge sharing
  • Coordination of cooperation between Knowledge and Learning Department and PIN’s Country Programs

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Overall Management

  • Is a member of RDD management and supports strategic planning of RDD and decision related to programme quality (technical quality of PIN’s programmes and MEAL)
  • Ensures setting up relevant tools and procedures for programme quality assurance in PIN’s Country Programmes
  • Ensures KLD has an annual action plan in place and is prepared in coordination with RDD management  
  • Strives for required KLD financial coverage by introducing and following up on the tools and processes required to achieve this
  • Supports KLD members in successful fulfilment of their ToRs and individual action points/goals

Human resources management

  • Ensures appropriate human resources required for the technical support of Country Programmes.
  • Leads the recruitment process of new KLD staff members (technical and MEAL advisors)​
  • Is responsible for the performance evaluation mechanism

Knowledge Management and development of PIN expertise

  • In cooperation with Head of MEAL and technical advisors ensures that PIN standards for technical quality and MEAL are in place and promoted to Country Programmes
  • Strives for investments to develop PIN expertise in strategic sectors
  • Ensures KLD leads in identifying lessons learned and good practices, transferring them to PIN guidelines/policies and strengthening their incorporation into project/program implementation
  • Supports innovations in PIN programmes and coordinates internal innovation fund

Networking

  • Promotes cooperation with research institutions and universities
  • Promotes cooperation with Alliance2015 and other INGOs in programme quality issues

 

Requirements:

  • MA/Diploma in development/humanitarian field or relevant educational background
  • 5 years of experience in humanitarian/development work required
  • Fluent knowledge of English required
  • Proven experience in team management required, including in remote management settings
  • Proven experience with implementation of development programmes and knowledge of current trends in development cooperation.
  • Knowledge and experience of monitoring and evaluation within projects required
  • Critical analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Cultural sensitivity, excellent communication skills and strong ability to motivate and transfer knowledge to others
  • Empathy with the organisation values and its approach
  • Sound judgment, coordination and management skills
  • Responsible and systematic, with ability to organize and plan effectively
  • Valid work permit for Czech republic (does not apply to EU citizens)
