Jan Mrkvička, Director of the Relief and Development Department

For the past 16 years, Jan has managed humanitarian operations in Afghanistan and Sri Lanka and worked in many other developing countries, as well. As a Director of the Relief and Development Department Jan is responsible for strategic leadership, quality and risk management, crisis management, organizational development and representation. He is especially proud that, under his leadership, the Relief and Development Department has grown ten-fold and now employs 1,300 people in twenty-two different countries and is reaching over three millions people every year. Jan is looking forward to getting to know all the participants at today’s event. 

Zuzana Steppanová, Head of the Logistics Department 

Zuzana helps our country programs establish solid logistical procedures that support project implementation. An important aspect of her work is monitoring the procurement of supplies and materials. She enjoys watching people take initiative and create projects that grow and flourish. At Discover PIN, she is curious to learn about what the image of People in Need is and what skills participants can bring to the organization.

Lauriane Gauny, Regional Director for Europe and the South Caucasus

Lauriane oversees the desk teams supporting PIN country programs and the directors themselves in the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus. She ensures that country programs follow organizational strategy, operate according to PIN’s values and get the resources and support they need. She loves that this job brings new challenges and enables her to travel to important countries around the world. At Discover PIN, she looks forward to meeting other professionals and learning something new from them! 

Markéta Novotná, Finance & Compliance Director

Markéta is responsible for the management of PIN's financial systems and procedures. Together with her team, she provides guidance and support to country programmes for all financial and operational aspects of their work. During her time with PIN, Markéta has spent two years in Afghanistan. This was a great experience because she was able to work in the field in a different cultural context. She is looking forward to Discover PIN and sharing personal experiences with potential future employees.
