People in Need One World Festival

One World Festival

Organized by the People in Need foundation for 17 years in row and standing as an inspiration to other human rights film festivals, the 18th annual One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival will take place on 7–16 March 2016 in Prague. In March and April, the festival will then move to another 32 towns and cities throughout the Czech Republic subsequently followed by Brussels and other world towns and cities where the festival films will be screened as part of One World Echoes.

The festival news is published at www.oneworld.cz or on the festival’s Facebook and Twitter profiles. The programme has already been published.

The festival brings attention of the audience to the serious topics of today – be them the migration, life of minorities or protection of environment. In addition, the festival also screens films about the media as well as Czech documentaries.

The festival is also well-known for Q&A sessions after the screenings with filmmakers, protagonists and numerous festival guests, as well as for the panel debates about the main festival topics discussed from a number of points of view. Each year, the festival attracts the attention of over 100,000 viewers.

The festival further screens films to primary-school pupils and high-school students within the One World in Schools educational programme.

The festival audience can also borrow selected One World films – legally and free of charge within the Get Your Audience! programme.

The festival film-discussion evenings continue even after the end of festival – in Langhans – Centre of People in Need throughout the entire year.
