Afghanistan is a country plagued by armed conflict and natural disasters. Its population is largely dependent on help from the outside. In view of the ever-present poverty, the country has far to go to reach a satisfactory standard of living and to have fully functional state institutions.
People in Need (PIN) has been working in Afghanistan since the fall of the Taliban government in 2001. The mission focuses on more than just humanitarian aid, seeking to find long-term solutions to systemic problems in the sectors of education, livelihoods, rural development and improving the quality of life for the local people. In our programmes we always strive to make all components of implemented projects mutually interconnected and able to complement each other so that we can effectively utlise the synergy of the various approaches.
PIN Afghanistan currently organizes its projects in the North, East and West of the country from two main offices in Mazar-e-Sharif and Kabul. We work from another two regional offices spread across the provinces of Samangan and Nangarhar.
