LEAD schools: Join us on the way to a better education system!

People in Need has been operating in Ethiopia since 2003. Besides the actual process of school construction, our education programme is dedicated to training teachers to become proficient in using quality teaching methods with a direct approach to education.
The project team cooperates with the local authorities to create a system for evaluating the quality of education and subsequent school certification "LEAD" which will be incorporated into the school monitoring activities carried out by the education offices.
LEAD criteria have been developed and tested in cooperation with SNNPR educational authorities in 60 primary schools.
LEAD schools are those which enable their students to learn through engagement and application in order to develop the skills they need for a productive life. They includes 8 quality standards enhancing student´s learning. This video introduces them.
