About People in Need

People in Need (PIN) is an international, non-profit organization providing humanitarian and development assistance in over 20 countries worldwide. Formed in 1992 in the Czech Republic, PIN has grown to be the biggest organization of its kind in post-communist Europe, providing relief where it is needed, and empowering civil society at home and abroad.

In response to deteriorating humanitarian situation in Ninewah Governorate and massive displacement of people from the conflict-affected areas, PIN decided to re-establish its presence in Iraqi Kurdistan in January 2015 and opened its main office in Dohuk city from where the organization has been coordinating its activities. Over the past years, PIN has been active mostly in Talafar, Hamdaniya, Telkief and Mosul districts in Education, WASH and Shelter/NFI sectors. PIN is expanding its geographical coverage to South- Central governorates, and sectoral coverage onto Livelihoods. While PIN continues to focus on rapid humanitarian assistance, early recovery and stabilisation-oriented projects are being launched. PIN looks for a Program Manager who will continue PIN emergency response program and build emergency preparedness capacities.

Depending on humanitarian needs, PIN’s operation in Iraq might be further expanding beyond above parameters.
