Position Title: Programme Quality Support Officer (Volunteer/Intern)
Location:
Yerevan, with travel to regions
Duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension
Line Manager: Country Director

Brief description of mission or/and project for which the staff is required:

PIN Armenia is currently implementing both development and humanitarian projects. The Country Programme is aiming at strengthening its fundraising in development sector using the possibilities of open calls and also through proactive networking and fundraising. We have created the position of Programme Quality Support Officer (PQSO) to assist us in reaching these goals under the supervision and support of Country Director and to backstop programme quality and reporting. Additionally, PQSO role should be to support the process of:

i) updating PIN Armenia Country Strategy (2018-2022) considering the recent developments in Armenia and the COVID aftermath as well as 
ii) designing 2021-2022 Action Plan based on that.

This is an entry level international position, for which we look for a young professional with experience of NGO work and who has strategic thinking approach, analytical and research skills.

The successful candidate will gain experience across diverse programmes and sectors as part of a dynamic and friendly team.

Key Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Country Director and in close cooperation with HQ Desk PQSO will contribute to the development of project proposals in line with strategic priorities, identify opportunities to introduce relevant activities into new and ongoing projects, and coordinate with programme and MEAL colleagues to ensure quality work is delivered, captured, and reported.

Programme Development

  • Support Project Managers with designing programmes that meet real needs and aligned with PIN strategies and policies
  • Translate programme concepts into clear and convincing proposals that meet donor requirements
  • Research and build awareness of local developments in PIN key sectors
  • Proactively search for fundraising possibilities according to Country Strategy sectors
  • Represent PIN at coordination meetings as required

Coordinate Reporting

  • Liaise regularly with Project Managers to ensure the delivery of high quality and timely donor reports
  • Work closely with the MEAL team to strengthen the monitoring and evaluation components of reports
  • Coordinate with the Finance Department to ensure coherence between financial and narrative reports
  • Ensure that reporting guidelines, formats, and deadlines for each project and donor are understood and correctly used across the country programme

Additional Tasks

  • Monitoring visits and quality assurance of ongoing project activities
  • Support programme staff to identify good practices and case studies for scale up and sharing of lessons learnt
  • According to interest and schedule, the PQSO will be able to participate in project activities and events

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in international development, humanitarian aid or related subject
  • Experience working in the development sector and in drafting successful proposals
  • Good interpersonal and coordination skills
  • Keen eye on details
  • Candidate must be flexible, adaptable, and positive
  • Excellent written and spoken English required
  • Interest in the region, and skills in any local languages would be of an added value
