Asia portfolio:

The geographic focus of the role will be on Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Mongolia and Afghanistan—where we deliver emergency response and implement programming aimed at civil society development and building climate resilient communities and economies.

PIN provides humanitarian aid through cash assistance, food security support, shelter materials, and access to safe water and sanitation. As one of the leaders in disaster preparedness, it reinforces local disaster‑preparedness systems, enhances early‑warning mechanisms, and builds community capacity to anticipate and respond to recurring climate‑related shocks. This includes promoting risk‑informed planning, pre‑crisis triggers for early action, and measures that help households act before hazards escalate into emergencies.

In parallel, PIN implements development initiatives that improve livelihoods, expand economic opportunities, and promote inclusive access to essential services. This includes supporting farmers and small enterprises, advancing climate‑smart agricultural practices, improving nutrition, and strengthening market linkages to reduce vulnerability to climate and economic shocks. With civil society strengthening at the core of its mandate, PIN also collaborates with local partners and community institutions to foster civic engagement, strengthen accountability, and encourage locally led, resilience‑focused solutions.

PIN's programming across Asia is funded by major institutional donors such as ECHO, FCDO, DG INTPA, UNOCHA and WFP.  We are also part of a dynamic network of local and international partners including Alliance 2015, Charter for change, Climate charter, Risk-Informed Early Action Partnership (REAP), Anticipation Hub, START network, Climate Action Network (CAN), World Meteorological Organisation Associated programme on flood management.  In July 2026, PIN received accreditation to the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
