Contract duration: Open contract (with 6 months probation period)
Reports to: Director, Relief and Development dept.

The Relief and Development Department is employing over 2 400 staff members in 22 countries, including 12% of international and Headquarters staff. HR Department is not only responsible for international and HQ staff but as well defines the HR framework and develops HR tools for all country programmes and builds capacities of country-based HR departments.

As a member of RDD management team, you will participate in strategic decision-making reflecting RDD strategy and challenges in fast-changing environments.

These would be your major agendas:

  • Manage a team of thirteen HR professionals who cover HR cycle of HQ and international staff, Capacity building, Staff care & wellbeing, HR communication, HR administration, HR advisory
  • Coach and mentor team members, and support the development of their skills in a dynamic work environment
  • Design and implement central HR processes, procedures and staff manuals, follow the development of these at the country programmes level and monitor the fulfilment of minimum standards
  • Maintain compliance with relevant legislation and donor's rules
  • Oversee selection, implementation and development of HRM tools (ATS and recruitment, E-learning, webinars, 360° feedback, etc.)
  • Contribute to the implementation of a new HRIS worldwide
  • Act as HR advisor for other Leadership team members
  • Participate in staff grievance mechanism, complaint investigation and resolution
  • Manage internal projects (e.g. staff satisfaction survey)

Core competencies for the role:

  • Sound experience in HR management and knowledge of best practices
  • Ability to think in processes yet being able to reflect specific individual needs
  • General finance and administration background in order to design feasible processes aligning with other operations
  • Experience with data analyses, setting and following budgets (accompanied by respective Excel skills)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with people from different backgrounds
  • Quick decision-making and can-do attitude
  • English would become your primary working language
  • Fluency in the Czech language is necessary
  • Welcomed is an experience with an HR system (SuccessFactors especially)

The HR director reports to the COO, whereas this role reports to Director of the Relief and Development Department.
