People in Need is calling for applications for the position of a Junior Project Coordinator to MHPSS Team within East European Program of the Centre for Human rights and Democracy (HRD). The primary goal of People in Need's Centre for Human Rights and Democracy is to support independent individuals and groups in countries with repressive regimes who are the target of persecution, harassment, or arrests because of their opinions or activities, and to strengthen civil society in countries that are going through democratic transformation.

The East European Program is currently focusing on support of civil society in Armenia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Moldova/Transnistria, Ukraine and countries of the Central Asia. The main programmatic focus includes:
- Capacity building for civil society organisations and support for their activities
- Mental Health and Psycho-social support to individuals and groups
- International advocacy
- Direct aid to politically persecuted individuals and their families
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting in travels and logistics for the team and beneficiaries
- Assisting in planning and coordinating particular country program activities, primarily focused on the support of human rights and mental health and psycho-social well-being of activists
- Assisting in development of manuals, projects, including project proposal writing and reporting
- Administration of project documentation
- Cooperating with the Finance Manager on budgets for individual projects and activities
- Regular contact with partner organizations
SUITABLE CANDIDATES SHOULD POSSESS:
- University degree in relevant field
- Fluency in Czech, Russian and English
- At least one year of relevant experience in social work, social care, psychosocial support is a strong asset
- Skills required: empathy, tolerance, emotional intelligence
- Overall understanding of political issues, security risks and trends in the region of the former Soviet Union
- Excellent organizational and communicational skills
- Ability to effectively manage time and handle multiple assignments
- Conceptual thinking and reliability
- Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
