About PIN:

People in Need (PIN) is a Czech Republic-based NGO globally working in the relief and development sectors. PIN has been active in Ukraine since early August 2014 and the humanitarian program has been rapidly expanding since then: https://www.peopleinneed.net/what-we-do/humanitarian-aid-and-development/ukraine . Currently, PIN is one of the major humanitarian actors and we are looking for senior humanitarian professionals to help PIN's response to the escalating situation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the overall operations of the logistics department, including compound management, fleet management, warehouses management, stock management and transportation of goods, procurement and supply chain management, assets management and administration
  • Implement and strengthen systems of oversight and prevention of corruption;
  • Oversee logistics budgets, improve and contribute to planning of logistics needs
  • Ensure effective and efficient use of funds
  • Provide regular reporting to Head of Systems and Operations,
  • Coordinate closely with HQ Logistics and Procurement team
  • Be the focal point for all Logistics and Procurement related matters for Ukraine
  • Develop and maintain good network of contacts to facilitate emergency responses;
  • Oversee and manage procurement of goods/services, implementing centralised procurement system
  • Coordinates and supports timely deliveries and distribution
  • Oversee negotiations with local suppliers and contract management;
  • Ensure compliance with PIN procedures and policies in terms of stock management;

Suitable candidates for this position should possess:

  • Professional experience within a humanitarian and/or development organization;
  • Proven experience in management of logistics and procurement departments;
  • Familiarity with procurement and logistics guidelines of main institutional donors is advantage;
  • Experience with team management and supervision, and interest in building the capacity of national teams;
  • Excellent communication skills, including fluent spoken and written English; Ukrainian/Russian is an advantage
  • Strong grasp of programme cycle management and quality standards in humanitarian programming, including safeguarding and accountability mechanisms;
  • Strong organizational, critical analysis and problem-solving skills;
  • Experience of working in complex and volatile contexts, including familiarity with the humanitarian context would be an advantage.

  • Starting salary in the range of 38 – 44 000 CZK gross/month based on your experience and PIN’s salary scale (for full time)

  • Per diems of approx. 1000 CZK net/day when traveling abroad (for example visiting the country programmes in Ukraine)
