Výzva k ukončení utrpení v Sýrii

Proto dnes my – vůdci humanitárních organizací a agentur OSN – apelujeme nejen na politiky, ale i světovou veřejnost, aby se zasadili o ukončení krveprolití. Je nutné naléhat, aby všechny strany dospěly k dohodě o zastavení palby a cestě k míru.

Více než kdy dřív potřebuje svět slyšet hlas spojené veřejnosti volající po ukončení tohoto konfliktu a humanitární krize, jejíž důsledky se týkají nás všech.

Krize zasahuje především lidi v Sýrii, kteří přišli o své milované a o své živobytí, kteří byli vypuzeni ze svých domovů nebo v zoufalství v obležení. Více než 13,5 miliónu lidí dnes v Sýrii potřebuje humanitární pomoc. To není pouze statistika. To je 13,5 miliónu lidských bytostí, jejichž životy a budoucnost jsou v nebezpečí.

Mnohé rodiny se musely vydat na nebezpečnou cestu do cizích zemí, aby tam hledaly azyl. Tato válka už do blízkých i dalekých států vyhnala přes 4,6 milionu lidí.

Celá generace dětí a mládeže byla připravena o vzdělání, traumatizována prožitými hrůzami a teď stále častěji vidí svou budoucnost zase v násilí. Násilné dopady krize viděli v ulicích, kancelářích a restauracích i lidé žijící daleko od Sýrie. Ekonomická situace lidí po celém světě byla také mnohými způsoby zasažena konfliktem v Sýrii.

Ti, kteří by mohli zabránit dalšímu utrpení, by měli začít konat. Dokud nenastane diplomatické řešení konfliktu, je potřeba zejména:

• Zajistit nerušený a trvalý přístup humanitárních organizací pro zajištění okamžité pomoci potřebným v Sýrii
• Zajistit humanitární příměří a bezpodmínečné, monitorované zastavení bojů pro bezpečné doručení stravy a další nutné pomoci civilistům, pro očkování a další zdravotní kampaně, a pro děti, aby se mohly vrátit do školy
• Ukončit útoky na civilní infrastrukturu a chránit školy, nemocnice a zdroje pitné vody
• Zajistit svobodu pohybu pro všechny civilisty a okamžité ukončení všech obléhání všemi bojujícími stranami.

Toto jsou praktické kroky. Nejsou žádné věcné důvody, proč by neměly být podniknuty, pokud je vůle tak učinit.

Ve jménu naší sdílené lidskosti…pro milióny nevinných, kteří už tolik vytrpěli…a pro milióny dalších, jejichž životy a budoucnost jsou ohroženy, voláme po okamžité akci.
